A Bavarian genome project, at last
The Institute of Human Genetics at the Klinikum rechts der Isar, Technical University Munich, founded in the year 2000 during the surge of the human genome project, initially starting with gene mapping in single families followed by genome wide SNP typing in populations (cases and controls).
Today, the Institute focuses on data structures, sharing of data and the trust we need from patients to work with their genotypes and phenotypes. It is also preparing to run the first large scale genome project in the German state of Bavaria.
