Cryogenic Electron Microscopy Resource for Research, Data Collection and Training
The Stanford-SLAC Cryo-EM Facility is equipped with three 300 kV and one 200 kV electron microscopes with phase plates, energy filters, and direct electron detector technologies. The Facility also has necessary ancillary equipment for specimen preparation, such as for final steps of macromolecule purification, tissue culture lab, grid preparation and vitrification robots. Scientists at the Cryo-EM Facility offer these resources to the Stanford-SLAC scientific community for end-stage specimen preparation, high-throughput data collection, and real-time data evaluation, either in-person or online via remote submission of vitrified grids. Its mission is to provide these services to collaborators and users who have important biological projects but may not have access to adequate equipment in their home laboratories.
