Planetary Geology
Geology is one of the most eclectic domains of science. Located at the intersection of physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, mineralogy, it is nurtured by results obtained in the field, in the lab and, more recently, by observations from space. Major advances in geology have been made possible thanks to the cross fertilization between various disciplines. The development of new exploration tools is another critical aspect, allowing us to reach remote parts of the Earth like the deep oceans and the rocky planets from the solar system. The Observatoire Midi-Pyrénées in Toulouse, France plays a fundamental role in focusing people from various horizons on the same scientific targets.
