At the Boston University School of Medicine we are actively involved in analysing networks of the brain, at multiple levels. Using MRI we are looking at the whole brain level of these networks can be defined and how they are impacted by various disease states. In parallel, we are investigating these same networks at the light microscope level in order to better understand the validity of the MRI measures that we use. We are able to look at the smallest components of these networks using electron microscope in order to determine how even subtle changes in aspects of these networks impact the whole brain at the MRI level.
