The Arkansas Regional LEND program seeks to improve the lives of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities through a variety of interprofessional education activities. While the principle mission of the program is to develop the next generation of leaders in the disability field, service learning projects improve services in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, the states in which trainees and faculty work. One project is the HOPE Club, which seeks to recruit middle and high school minority students to prepare for careers in health professions. The program works closely with other MCHB programs, including Title V, Family to Family, and the Regional Genetics Collaborative.
