A Past, Present and Future Pioneer in Imaging Research
Penn State University Department of Radiology
Penn State Hershey Radiology has a long history of commitment to imaging research. Historically the primary focus has been NMR/MRI research with installation of one of the first in vivo multi-nuclear NMR spectroscopy systems in 1983, and development of the Penn State Center for NMR Research in 1991. Since 1991, the Center has become one of the premier sites for ultra-high field MRI research. ISMRM-TV traveled to Hershey, PA to understand more about the novel technology developed to allow olfactory fMRI studies for research surrounding neurodegenerative disease and gustatory fMRI studies for studies surrounding obesity.
