The U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC)
The Cutting Edge of Autonomous Ground Vehicle Robotics
The Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) is leading the development, integration, and sustainment for all manned and unmanned Department of Defense (DoD) ground systems and combat support systems, both to improve Current Force effectiveness and also provide superior capabilities for the Future Force. TARDEC is a premier Army laboratory, providing the DoD with leading edge R&D, Advanced, and Current Product engineering for ground vehicles and associated systems. Ground Vehicle Robotics department at TARDEC provides a full suite of capabilities for Automated and Autonomous systems, from small robotic platform design, build & test, to the design, development and testing of large, multi- truck convoys and a variety of systems in between. TARDEC GVR has been an early pioneer and today is a key leader in the field of automotive robotics, working with many technologies and methodologies in this arena.
