A Toxicological Perspective on E-cigarette, or Vaping, Product Use–Associated Lung Injury (EVALI)
SOT TV 2020
SOT member and University of New Mexico Professor Matthew Campen discusses e-cigarette, or vaping, product use-associated lung injury (EVALI) and addresses the lack of health science knowledge in this area, as well as the need for regulatory oversight. Toxicologists are researching the components of e-cigarette juice to help assess health effects and safety, while also exploring what happens to a person’s lungs after use.
Founded in 1961, the Society of Toxicology (SOT) is a professional and scholarly organization of scientists from academic institutions, government, and industry representing the great variety of scientists who practise toxicology in the US and abroad.
