Intersection of Cutting Edge Research and Teaching in Biomedical Sciences
PhD and Vesalius Program at Boston University School of Medicine
The research mission of the Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology is the development and exploration of animal models and the study of selective human populations to understand cerebral systems in health and disease. The Department is also nationally known for its teaching acumen and training. Their PhD students not only engage in cutting edge research in systems and developmental neuroscience but are also trained to become 1st rate educators in the biomedical sciences, making them extremely competitive candidates for positions in academia.
This is also emphasized in their two-year Vesalius master's Program. The program is nationally recognized for its strong focus on producing outstanding educators through a combination of professional educator training, mentored teaching and education related research in the biomedical sciences.
