The Protein Data Bank (PDB) is the single archive for biological macromolecules. The PDB is managed by the Worldwide PDB consortium of data centers – the RCSB PDB (US), PDB Europe (UK), PDB Japan, and BioMagResBank (US). These data centers collaborate on issues surrounding data representation, validation, and curation in order to produce the highly curated data in the PDB. The RCSB PDB also builds powerful resources for research and education on top of the PDB data that are used by researchers, teachers, and students studying biology and its connections to molecular biology, structural biology, computational biology, pharmacology, and more.
