Center for Science and Innovation in Spintronics (CSIS), Tohoku University
Tohoku University: Leading the world with its Spintronics research
In Tohoku University, outstanding researchers are working on diverse research areas from fundamental science to application/implementation. The intention of the Center for Science and Innovation in Spintronics is to facilitate interaction between researchers not only in Tohoku University but also throughout the world. Throughout activities in this center, researchers are expected to be more proactive, more innovative and more creative, and to achieve transformative results in spintronics.
Spintronics spans both fundamental and applied research fields. Condensed matter physics, spin current physics, spin caloritronics, and nuclear spin physics come together to realize novel spintronics phenomena. Spintronic studies also cover applications such as innovative high-performance devices designed for integrated circuits.
