Quantum computing is defining a new computing paradigm, and the USC Center for Quantum
Information Science and Technology (CQIST) is proudly working to push quantum computing from theory into reality. By using the nation’s only academic installation of a D-Wave machine, the faculty and students at USC are performing experiments to prove that basic quantum effects such as entanglement, and quantum error correction, are indeed possible. CQIST is solving some of the hardest problems facing physicists today to accomplish a practical realization of quantum computing in the near future.

"By moving us beyond print, and even beyond the web in some ways, and having the Historians TV conference channels running throughout the conference and in the hotel rooms it really helps to give a sense that we're reaching into the future."
