In a beautiful location in southwest Germany a physics research gem has grown in recent years. The physics department takes now part in no less than five collaborative research centers, which are the largest most visible DFG funded collaborations. A heavy focus in research and education is on spin phenomena and ultra-cold gases, which are central to future quantum foundations and applications. Using the newest large scale equipment and specialized laser labs the basis for a future quantum revolution is researched on this beautiful campus.
