The Drexel Urban Health Collaborative: training, research, and engagement for healthier cities.
The Drexel Urban Health Collaborative leverages the power of data, research, education, and partnerships to make cities healthier, more equitable, and environmentally sustainable.
Work at the UHC is guided by five key principles: (1) the value of place-based approaches to improving health; (2) the power of data to motivate and support action; (3) the need to understand how evidence is used in policy, and to generate evidence that is useful for policy; (4) the fundamental importance of health equity and social justice to health; and (5) the conviction that meaningful knowledge-generation and effective action cannot happen without partnerships.
Our work focuses on the city of Philadelphia but also spans cities across the globe. The UHC promotes and supports global partnerships and exchanges to learn from cities all over the world.
