Exciting work in cancer detection in Thailand's most prestigious hospital
Excellence Center of GI Endoscopy, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Chulalongkorn University
Two years after the Chulalongkorn GI Endoscopy Excellence Center moved to the Bhumisiri Mangkhalanusorn Building - a much larger space - the endoscopy workload has greatly increased. The new center is 1800 m2 and the area has been organised with 6 general GI endoscopy rooms, 2 fluoroscopy rooms and one endo-surgery room. There are more than 60 personnel in the center. There are three main subjects of focus including service, teaching, and research.
This is a comprehensive center that covers all procedures related to GI oncology. For diagnosis, the center features cutting-edge technologies of image enhanced endoscopy such as NBI, i-Scan, FICE, BLI, SpyGlass cholangioscopy, and confocal laser imaging. For therapeutic purposes, the center leads Thailand with many new prototypes of biliary and lumen approximated metallic stents.
