Bridging the Gap in Genetics

Center for Human Disease Modeling, Duke University

The Center for Human Disease Modeling (CHDM) was founded in 2009 and represents a new, hybrid activity that bridges genetics, genomics, cell biology and clinical investigation. Its primary mission is to develop and implement biological assays to understand genetic variation discovered in patients - an effort that’s critical in the post-genome era and one that creates substantial crosstalk, reflective of the overlapping interests of the faculty and of the multidisciplinary nature of the CHDM.
