CNLS: Interdisciplinary at its Core
Los Alamos National Laboratory Center for Non-Linear Studies
The Center for Nonlinear Studies at Los Alamos National Laboratory performs interdisciplinary fundamental and applied science on problems of national importance. Across a scientific landscape from quantitative biology and information science to fluid dynamics and material physics, CNLS provides mechanisms for scientific leadership and innovation. CNLS represents LANL science, builds and facilitates national/international research communities, and supports science in the national interest through its large vigorous postdoctoral research effort, by maintaining a strong visiting scholar program, and by organizing outstanding international conferences. The scientific grand challenges of the 21st century increasingly demand interdisciplinary research, an approach CNLS has refined for decades.
