Sanders-Brown Center on Aging at the University of Kentucky
The Sanders-Brown Center on Aging is a global pioneer in Alzheimer's research, with a decades - long body of work. The Center benefits from 700 volunteers, some cognitively normal and some impaired, who are studied for years and donate their brains when they die. ADI2011 TV visits Kentucky to see how the cutting-edge research focuses on identifying problems as early as possible, before memory loss develops, so that Alzheimer's can be prevented or delayed. We also see how Sanders-Brown provides education and outreach services, and runs an active clinical trials program to test potential new therapies. The overall goal is to more effectively translate discoveries into interventions and information to benefit older adults.
