Washington, DC – WebsEdge has been awarded gold for video production in this year’s AVA Digital Awards. The film titled Creating Useful Products from Waste by Katie Temme, Senior Producer at WebsEdge, won in the environmental issue category. CEO Stephen Horn said “It is great to be recognized for creativity and quality video production – it reflects Katie’s hard work and assiduity in producing this informative film.”
Produced for the Synthetic Bioproducts Center at Utah State University, the film demonstrates how raw materials can be transformed into environmentally friendly products. The most famous product to be created by the Center is synthetic spider silk but it is also involved in developing low cost therapeutics, antimicrobials, pharmaceuticals and other biomaterials.
“”Because of the diversity of research in our center it was good to have a film crew and editing work to put it all together. We have not only used the final video but have used other parts of the filming for our own websites.” said Dr Randy Lewis, USTAR Professor of Biology at Utah State University.
Creating Useful Products from Waste was filmed for MRS TV a Conference TV production for the Materials Research Society and was shown at the 2015 MRS Fall Meeting. MRS TV debuted in Fall 2012 and has been broadcast at their Spring and Fall Meetings ever since. This year, MRS TV will be reaching its 5 year mile stone and its 10th Program at the upcoming 2017 MRS Spring Meeting in April.
Conference TV captures issues and audiences, through the power of television and is broadcast at many association conferences around the world. Creator of Conference TV and WebsEdge CEO Stephen Horn said “This AVA Digital Awards demonstrates to the continuing relevancy of Conference TV which spotlights some of the major challenges facing society today in health, education and government.”
